Senior Manager – Strategic Transformation

We have a portfolio of offerings which serve to scope out and design an evidence-located growth trajectory for our client, for example growth planning (e.g. growth strategic plans & prioritisation; business model reinvention; operating model transformation), macro-strategic planning (e.g. macro-trend analysis; strategic outline case), commercial effectiveness (e.g. enterprise cost reduction, strategic pricing) and transformation design (e.g. transformation roadmap design; purpose-led transformation; strategic implementation planning). The Opportunity
This is a leadership abilities function, and you will be part of a talented team who will work closely with you to bring the best of EY to the market.

You will build out key accounts in line with our Go to Market priorities. You will be client facing, scoping solutions located on client need and forming diverse teams to deal with clients’ most complex of problems. Most of your time will be spent embedded with our clients as you drive the best of our portfolio to market.

You will be sales-focused, practiced at developing business, and comfortable operating at scale. As part of a senior team you will be part of the decision-making around leveraging key accounts, growing the Competency and developing our talented team. You will also support the broader Business Development efforts of the Consulting practice, working with Sector and Competency Leads in this regard.

As a Senior Manager in Strategic Transformation, you will:
   » Demonstrate strong commercial practice, with evidence of building a sustainable book of business by focusing on high impact opportunities;
   » Continue to develop valued relationships by leveraging your own network of clients and EY’s network;
   » Be practiced in managing business development processes, from responding to RFPs to preparing for and presenting at pitches;
   » Create high-quality work products and act as a subject matter resource on one or more services, leveraging knowledge and practice to shape services to client problems;
   » Create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs;
   » Demonstrate excellent presentation and facilitation skills with an capability to succinctly and creatively present robust and evidence-located messages for complex projects or elements of highly complex projects, and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals;
   » Be practiced in creating impactful thought leadership abilities for use in business development, engagement delivery, as well as marketing to build EY’s profile;
   » Drive improvements in business processes, you will serve as a function model for Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) and make sure that project teams understand and comply with our Q&RM guidelines.

Skills and attributes for success
   » At least 10-12 years within a blue-chip consulting firm or industry (strong track record in consulting is highly desirable);
   » You will be practiced in delivering in complex public and private sector environments e.g. central government, consumer goods, technology, higher education, financial services, pharma/life sciences, energy etc;
   » A proven track record in delivering a suite of strategic planning and business transformation consulting services;
   » Senior stakeholder management (e.g. Board, C-Suite) and communication practice;
   » Proven track record in business development;
   » Strong academic record including a third level degree.
As a respected senior professional you will communicate effectively with EY engagement partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams, and help key staff to build sustainable competencies. Engagement responsibilities include:
   » Working comfortably at senior client levels, building 'trusted advisor' relationships;
   » Delivering engagements to time, cost and quality within appropriate governance frameworks;
   » Solving business and strategic issues through collaboration and teaming;
   » Applying knowledge and practice to shape services to clients and present project outputs via concise, high quality work products;
   » Managing the financial aspects of engagements by organising staffing, tracking fees and communicating issues to project leaders;
   » Leading and participating in business development initiatives;
   » Building strong internal relationships within Consulting and across other service lines. People responsibilities include:
   » function-modelling the EY values and being an advocate for people engagement in EY;
   » Developing people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff;
   » Conducting performance reviews and contribute to executeance feedback for staff;
   » Contributing to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training professionals;
   » Maintaining an educational program to continually develop personal skills;
