Logistics Manager - County Louth.

This is a key leadership abilities position with responsibility for providing results-driven leadership abilities to team members in all Materials/Logistics processes.

Key Tasks:
• Co-ordination of on-time supplier deliveries in conformity with the factory’s production schedule
• Development and maintenance of co-operation between plant and key suppliers
• Co-ordination of tasks among warehouse and logistic teams
• Supplier delivery forecasts according to the master plans in conjunction with the Sourcing team.
• Master planning management and co-ordination
• Responsible for the improvement, development, implementation and management of the company’s logistics processes.
• Responsible for securing material availcapability for the assembly lines with lowest possible cost, using best practice solutions such as VMI, Kanban, Sequence deliveries, etc.
• Support Production Management with planning resources to meet shipping dates according to customer orders.
• Support QA Management to ensure continuity of supply with agreed processes for supplier replacement & rework if required.
• Allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs. Together with HR, develop and implement a professional development program for materials personnel.
• Implementing health and safety procedures as appropriate for own area of responsibility.
• Project management as appropriate for own area of responsibility.
• Planning vehicle routes for inbound/outbound transport to optimise on value for money.

Qualifications and practice sought:
• Ideally a Master’s or Bachelor's Degree in Business or Logistics Management.
• APCIS, CPIM or IIPMM Diploma.
• Proven leadership abilities practice & a minimum of 6 years' practice as a Materials/Logistics Manager in a medium-high volume international business.
• expertise and practice in the implementation of world-class supply chain management methods and tools (lean, visual management, 5S, Kanban, JIT, consignment stock, etc.)
• practice in assembly-to-order environment
• Demonstrated strengths in optimising inventory management.
• Previous practice of SAP/LN/Baan (or equivalent ERP system) in a materials management capacity.
• Excellent computer literacy including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication expertise.
