Procurement Specialist

Job description
The Procurement Specialist is accountable for the smooth execution of all appropriate functions connected with Procurement activities. The function will manage procurement processes for the external supply base that supports business, including cost, risk, compliance, and supplier innovation.
Your tasks and responsibilities
   » Manage the end to end procurement process from initial review of Request for Tenders through to issuing of contract ensuring that this process is operating efficiently and effectively.
   » Negotiate contracts with new and existing vendors, ensuring contract terms achieve benefit to the organisation and govern the long-term relationship with the supplier.
   » Ensure legal review approval is obtained of any contract commitments
   » Assisting with queries and problems related to procurement systems and processes
   » Review and evaluate suppliers to ensure satisfactory performance is achieved
   » Optimise supplier base to deliver improved quality and cost of service
   » Identify and advise internal customers and supply management of risks inherent in supplier selection, quotations and purchase orders. Define and manage local supplier risk profiles.
   » Prepare month end KPI reports, savings objectives, DPO, Supplier Diversity, Supplier concentration.
   » Driving Procurement involvement within all business and functional units ensuring Information technology is value added
   » Managing and tracking performance across various spend categories whilst simultaneously identifying opportunities for savings
Your expertise and practice
The prosperous candidate will ideally have a minimum of 3 years significant practice in procurement function and will have a thorough knowledge, practice and knowledge of procurement practices and information compliance.
IIPMM membership / qualifications are considered advantageous
Degree or Post Grad qualification in an engineering, science, business, or supply chain discipline is considered advantageous
Demonstrable advanced working knowledge of MS Excel (formulas, macros, etc)
Excellent mathematics comprehension
