OUR PURPOSE
At our Purchasing Department in Medtronic, plc, we focus on developing and managing a world class Supply Chain to support Manufacturing requirements and Medtronic Mission to help expand access to Quality Healthcare . Buyer-Planners are directly involved in sourcing competitively price quality components and raw materials to support changing Manufacturing requirements and also in developing relationships with key suppliers. They are responsible for ensuring materials inventory goals are achieved and obsolescence is minimized at all times. Buyer-Planners are responsible for communicating product availcapability information to internal customers.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF:
? Plan and execute procurement of raw materials from global suppliers located on MRP signals, managing the day to day scheduling of raw material from the supply base ensuring schedules are achieved whilst ensuring exposure to excess/obsolete inventory is minimized.
? Manage supplier on time delivery, supplier adherence to schedule and agreed processes. Participate in /Lead Supplier Business Review Process.
? Maintain strong working relationships and communications with Manufacturing and Suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules whilst maintaining strong purchase order GMP.
? Supplier Management: Strategic Sourcing Initiatives, Cost saving initiatives, Purchasing T&C's Negotiations (including price), Supplier relationship/evaluation. Support Global Corporate Cost Reduction Programs through participation in on-line events, strategic negotiations.
? Maintain Item Master on ERP and manage Engineering changes (ECOs).
? Inventory Management: Support reporting, inventory parameters, inventory reduction and inventory turns increase targets. Product Life Cycle management (end of life component management).
? Participate on cross functional teams on identified projects (examples New Product Introduction, Lean events etc.)
? Ensure quality in all aspects of work by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) and maintaining compliance with Good Documentation Practice (GDP), Quality Cardinal Rules and where significant with cGMP.
? Complete special assignments, projects and tasks as requested.
? Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process.
? Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
? In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, relicapability, and capability to meet required schedules.
? Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
? Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.
? May monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning.KEY expertise & practice
? Level 8 Bachelor Degree (Business/Equivalent).
? Supply Chain (planning & procurement) practice an advantage.
? CPIM/IIPMM certification an advantage.
? OpEx Training Lean and Six Sigma - practice in a continuous improvement environment an advantage.
? Knowledge and knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and application
? Excellent analytical, planning, numerical and organizational expertise are required
? Interpersonal and presentation expertise required for internal and external liaisons with Suppliers and Medtronic stakeholders.
? Effective negotiation expertise and practice in negotiation.
? Proficient IS System expertise including knowledge of Microsoft office packages (Particularly Excel) and MPS/MRP ERP system knowledge.
? Will demonstrate initiative to take on additional responsibilities
? practice with Supply chain processes i.e. Supplier Hub / Supplier Kanbans, 3PL etc. and advantage
