Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Carpentersville, IL

Promoting core values of customer satisfaction and trust, our client provides a host of specialized bulk packaging for the chemical and food packaging industries. They are now looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join their team.

Within a friendly and team-oriented work environment, you will have the chance to take on a varied, interesting workload and play an important part in our client's operations.

As a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will process payroll and administer benefits for employees across three sites. Functioning as part of the accounting team, you will complete payroll journals and accruals, payroll budget analysis, create and analyze labor data reports, and provide other accounting support.

Working as part of the Accounting/Finance Team, you will:

- Reconcile and pay monthly benefit bills
- Administer the $401K plan
- Calculate sales commissions
- Ensure that all employee benefit materials are up-to-date
- Carry out new hire benefits orientation
- Act as the company's COBRA administrator
- Keep updated with federal, state and local payroll requirements and reporting

Ideally, you'll have practice of Paylocity, but this isn't essential.

Job Requirements

To be considered, you will need:

- At least two years' payroll practice
- At a minimum, two years' practice of administering employee benefits plans, including some knowledge of plan types
- Accounting practice including an knowledge of journal entries and reconciliation
- A high level of Information technology literacy, including intermediate MS Excel expertise

Proactive and analytical, as a Payroll & Benefits Specialist, you will have great written and verbal communication expertise. You'll also be adaptable with excellent problem-solving abilities.
