Vice President of Human Resources

Centennial has been retained by our highly prosperous privately owned manufacturing client to confidentially recruit for their key leadership abilities function of Vice President of Human Resources. This senior leadership abilities position is responsible for driving and sustaining a people-centric environment, with responsibility over all aspects of:
Ø Human Resources to develop and execute all HR processes for strategic human resource planning to attract the best talent available and position the Company as the industry Employer of Choice. This would include building a hiring process that improves candidate practice, proper vetting of potential candidates and improving progression/retention of the workforce ensuring future succession needs are met.
Ø EHS in conformity with the policies and practices of the Corporation, the ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulation and administrative rulings of governmental organization and other regulatory and advisory authorities and organizations; ensuring best management practices in workplace safety, OSHA and industrial safety and hygiene.
The Vice President of Human Resources is a critical member of (and advisor to) the Executive Team working with all members owning the retention, development and succession planning of all employees to support the company and to ensure employee concerns are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
This ?C-Suite? position will report to the COO of the company with responsibility to guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies and programs for the entire company by leading a significant team in a multi-site/multi-state manufacturing environment. This position is located in Greater Sidney, Ohio region.

Primary Objectives:
· Safety of the workforce (Leading and oversight of EHS team)

· Succession Planning (Development of the Human Resources department and other leadership abilities areas)
· Work Force Relationships (Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance)
· Personal continuing development

Key Responsibilities and Oversight:
   » Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance. Develop programs that enhance employee relations and engagement, building trust across the organization and in the HR function.
   » Partner with management in driving and integrating the company mission, vision and values all over every facet of the organization.
   » Coach and mentor leadership abilities and HR teams.
   » Work closely with the members of the Executive Team to drive and execute continuous improvement projects and initiatives, as well as measuring results.
   » Act as an advisor to the managers and managers on all issues regarding the "people" component of the business and in other matters that may arise.
   » Support the creation of training and development plans for all levels of team members, including measuring and tracking results/ROI.
   » Participate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.
   » Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR and EHS strategic and operational plans.
   » Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the corporation.
   » Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the corporation for positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company.
   » Handle all team member issues and concerns in a prompt and appropriate manner.
   » Ensure that all disciplinary action is documented appropriately and delivered in a timely manner.
   » Source, interview, test and orient exempt positions.
   » Oversight of the hiring process for all exempt and non-exempt positions, ensuring quality and "best" fit.
   » Direct Worker's Compensation, including OSHA log, safety record, medical documentation, light duty, hearings and claims mitigation/settlement, and payment.
   » Provide oversight and direction for all areas pertaining to HSE - employee safety, welfare, wellness and health and for environmental regulations and compliance
   » Handle unemployment claims, up to and including the hearing process.
   » Develop human resource and EHS planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps. Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and knowledge of the business of the company.
   » Establish credibility all over the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
   » Develop/Institute appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the corporation. Included in this area (but not limited only to the following) would be programs for employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development.
   » Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources and EHS policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Manage the human resource information systems database and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the corporation.
   » Maintain knowledge of international HR policies, programs, laws and issues (primarily Mexico) as applicable. Understand the differences of domestic and international policies and programs and coordinate the integration of all such programs.
   » Manage other areas such as relocation, employee communication and community relations.
   » Manage the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources and EHS Departments.
   » Evaluation of the human resources, EHS structure and team. Plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.

Job Requirements


practices and Appropriate qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. Masters' degree or equivalent combination of education and practice preferred.
2. 10+ years' diverse practice in Human Resources of progressively responsible leadership abilities practice leading large team for a mid-size to major company; or division of a large corporation.
3. Senior HR certification preferred.
4. practice within manufacturing environment required. practice in multi-site/state operations preferred.
5. practice in partnering with an executive team
6. Excellent communication, leadership abilities and planning sills
7. High level of written and oral communication skills
8. Demonstrated skills in HR generalist skills, including recruitment, talent management, team member relations, legal compliance and organizational roadmap development
