My client, a global healthcare company now have a new vacancy for a Planning & Materials Manager.
This position supervises the full integration of the supply chain activities. Specifically, in charge of raw materials, production planning and ensuring the plant meets customer delivery expectations. You will manage total operations planning functions including Inventory, Service, WCOM Initiatives and shipping/warehouse.

The main responsibilities are:
Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities. Work in conjunction with the EHS Manager to establish and maintain all policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
Participate in incident investigations for near misses, injuries and/or property damage that occur in the functional areas.
Interface with customer service and sales functions to prioritize demand and ensure plant capacity requirements will meet customer expectations.
Identify and implementing cost savings initiatives.
Ensure company is in compliance with all applicable safety storage and transportation regulations as required.
Implement/direct Continuous Improvement strategies and WCOM activities in support of planning goals and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Lead, participate in, and provide resources and direction to WCOM teams.
Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment; attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
Provide a clear vision of goals and expectations for the assigned people in the department and provides them with the tools and training required to meet those expectations.
Handle all elements of supervision including selection, income planning, training, recognition, discipline, and performance appraisals. Utilize Performance Management techniques in maximizing development.
Monitor the scheduling of orders on assigned machines to ensure that we will meet the scheduled ship date to our customers. Communicate unexpected delays to Customer Service.
Review the backlog on assigned machines frequently and works closely with the Production Planners to help balance the backlog.
Communicate everyday with the Manufacturing managers on the current and upcoming schedule required for assigned machines.
supervises maintenance of optimum inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements while maintaining minimal carrying and transportation costs.
Analyse and prepare Production Planning reports such as back log reports, rerun reports, etc. as required on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Attend everyday and weekly Manufacturing Production Meetings to provide backlog information to Manufacturing and reviews any Production Planning concerns.
Monitor the accuracy of data for BOMA such as: routings, production standards, machine & order status, etc. Updates data and provides feedback and training as necessary.
Analyse and prepare monthly reports for on time deliveries, capacity analysis, variance reports, and inventory reports.
Review and analyse aged inventory reports and creates action plans for reducing these inventories.
Act as a backup for the scheduler, material planner, and logistics manager.
Supervise the management of the logistics functions as well as supervise the storage, disposition of all purchased raw materials and finished goods.
Coordinate and assists with technical and manufacturing to resolve manufacturing issues as needed.
Coordinate with manufacturing and technical to assure good manufacturing processes are maintained.
Analyse and prepare monthly Pareto charts and root cause analysis for missed production order dates.
Participate in cross departmental meetings and focus groups to improve overall plant efficiency.
Work on overall plant cost savings projects as needed.
Responsible for all planning issues, acts as a backup for all Buyer/Planner functions.
Monitor progress of key orders and identifies delays.
Acts as a resource to calculate/estimate footage and supply requirements for projects and other orders.
Acts as a resource to develop economic order quantities and purchase materials and supplies related to production.
Coordinates MRP System data information.

WHAT THEY WANT FROM YOU
Third Level Qualification at HND level or higher
Working expertise of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Systems
Three years practice in a Production planning function within a high-volume manufacturing Company
Two years previous Line Management / Team Leader practice.
Demonstrable strong Excel expertise
