Job Description

Position Overview:

Molex is seeking a subject matter expert to manage the standardization of key Customs processes within Molex plants in Mexico. The person will work with Global Trade and Customs team members and key Mexico plant resources to identify and address Trade and Customs risk in the Molex US/Mexico Supply Chain. The position will be instrumental in driving compliance improvements within Molex Customs southern border operations.
This position will be accountable for developing a framework to evaluate emerging Customs risk as Information technology relates to the maturity of programmatic policies, procedures and controls. The person will have substantial leadership abilities, project management, collaboration, and communication expertise.
As part of the AME Trade and Customs team, the function is to ensure that Molex and its Mexico plants adhere to all government regulations and laws to avoid risks that may result in fines and penalties. This position can work remote.
Essential Functions:
   » Develop and implement new internal controls to address Customs risk in the areas of Valuation, Classification, and Free Trade Agreements.
   » Measure Customs Broker performance through regular Customs entry reviews.
   » Track export filing activity.
   » Grow current in-bond program to reduce US Customs activity exposure and duty expense.
   » Drive Customs system integration and standardization in conjunction with plant operations.
   » Drive Records and Information Management (RIM) initiatives on behalf of the Logistics department.
   » Conduct Risk Assessments for Trade and Customs operations at Molex entities in Mexico.
   » Develop Training material related to Trade and Customs operation issues.
   » Responsible for developing strategies and implementing Mexico Trade and Customs Compliance Program in line with AME Molex Corporate Trade Compliance Program.
   » Responsible for driving transformational change in Customs compliance for existing Molex entities and future acquisitions with operations in Mexico.
   » Support Trade and Customs team members in Bangalore, India with regard to Mexico import/export controls including classification.
   » Responsible for coordinating an annual Mexico Customs Council Meeting and driving trade compliance initiatives through its members.
   » contact with Customs, Export control and Government Authorities for regulatory updates and keep Molex updated with various trade regulations changes.
   » Conducts Regular Trade Compliance Training for Senior Management, Mexico Trade and Customs Council Members, Business units, key third party suppliers in Mexico.
   » Support Supply Chain Security Objectives to maintain C-TPAT certification.

Job Requirements

Required Appropriate qualifications:
   » Bachelor's degree or equivalent work practice.
   » 3+ years of practice with Maquila operations in Mexico.
   » 3+ years of practice in determining trade preference eligibility under the NAFTA.
   » Demonstrated practice creating training material.
   » US Licensed Customs Broker.
   » Bilingual in English and Spanish.
   » SAP GTS practice.
   » practice with C-TPAT validations.
   » US Customs Reconciliation program practice.
   » practice with US export controls.
   » Familiarity with Customs data portals.
