WLOS/WMYA is seeking an practiced, hands-on adjunct News Director with strong leadership abilities and investigative expertise. We are seeking for someone who loves to dig deeper and uncover the truth.This is a vital function in our newsroom that will supervise our 6pm and 11pm newscasts, as well as head up or four person investigative team.

Responsibilities include:
   » Manage the station's news operations, establishing goals and directing the staff that produces 30+ hours of local news weekly
   » Work closely with News Director to establish news content, philosophy, and direction
   » Review everyday newscasts to ensure quality control and brand compliancy, and subsequently provide feedback to all news staff
   » Assist the News Director with recruiting and hiring fornews personnel
   » Work closely with our investigative and advocacy brands to grow and strengthen a key piece of our newsroom strategy
   » Help develop our image on multiple platforms

Requirements:
   » Must have a working expertise of journalistic ethics, libel, and privacy laws
   » Musthave a demonstrated capability to manage multiple hours of everyday newscasts on two stations
   » Must have a proven track record of success in building a winning news organization
   » A degree in journalism, broadcast media, or related field is required
   » A minimum of five years' of practice in a news management functionis required
