As the first line of defense to the business / corporate function, this position supports the Retirement team in the implementation of risk management procedures with minimal supervision/direction.
As the first line of defense to the business / corporate function, this position supports the Retirement team in the implementation of risk management procedures with minimal supervision/direction. Possesses knowledge of governance and principles and applies them to their knowledge of the departments and services within the significant business unit / corporate center. Helps identify problems and informs/assists risk management in the resolution of the matter. Provides data analysis support in looking for potential trends, as well as creates and distributes metrics and reports to others. Researches regulations, issues, root causes and summarizes findings.
Support the continuing implementation of the Operational Risk Management framework by participating in all elements of the program; including administering Risk Control Self Assessments, KRI data collection / review, data entry into archer, issue management and follow-up with action owners etc.
The function will involve working directly with Operational Risk Management and key Subject Matter Experts to articulate risks of the focused area and clearly define controls or required action plans to mitigate those risks.
This will be a challenging function and the prosperous candidate will be a proactive self starter, with a proven record of taking the initiative and leading tasks through to prosperous completion. Training will be provided as required to ensure the individual understands the Prudential Operational Risk Management framework and tools required to carry out this function.

The main responsibilities are:
   » Provide input to overall Information technology risk assessment, mitigation and subsequent controls
   » Collaborate with members of various departments, including specialists from ISO, Business Continuity, Vendor Governance, Privacy, Records Management and other Risk management professionals to glean pertinent information from Risk Assessment interviews, meetings and related process and procedural documents
   » capability to explain sophisticated functionality and processes in clear and simplified English and call out the controls
   » Understand Information technology processes, policies and procedures
   » Provide Third Party Risk Management support and guidance to new and existing vendor engagement managers
   » Review and monitor electronic communication to ensure policy compliance
   » Assist in monthly, quarterly and annual metric reporting.
   » Use tools such as Archer, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Adobe Acrobat

Position Requirement and suitable education
   » Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Risk Management (or equivalent professional and/or academic training) is preferable
   » Good knowledge of the Information technology industry, business functions and availability to research aspects of Risk Management which require a deeper knowledge
   » Knowledge of Operational Risk Management an advantage
   » Exposure or knowledge of regulatory examinations/audits an advantage
   » Exposure or knowledge of corporate governance programs such as Security, Privacy, Records management, Business continuity and Vendor Governance an advantage
   » ITIL, CMMi or ISO practice and knowledge an advantage
   » practice in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Adobe Acrobat essential
