The Ball State University Foundation Office of Engagement is accepting applications for an Associate Vice President of Alumni Engagement and President of BSU Alumni Association with a desired start date of August 1, 2018.

Position function : The Associate Vice President (AVP) for Alumni Engagement and President of BSU Alumni Association plans and implements a comprehensive and inclusive alumni program that strategically engages alumni and creates compensateing engagement practices that are designed to foster lifelong connections between alumni and Ball State University. The AVP will create programming that promotes a comprehensive knowledge of the university's mission, goals and priorities and offers diverse opportunities for engagement. The AVP leads and sets goals and priorities for the alumni engagement team and is a member of the Strategy, Engagement and Communications leadership abilities team. The AVP provides oversight and executive direction to the Alumni Association, alumni chapters, and works collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Ball State University is located in Muncie, Indiana, approximately 45 miles northeast of Indianapolis. At more than 22,500 students, enrollment for the 2017-18 academic year is Ball State's largest ever. Job Requirements


Minimum qualifications : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Five years of executive leadership abilities practice managing a team in alumni administration, development, marketing, public relations, or practice as an executive leader in a related field. Demonstrated track record of success working with Alumni and Advancement; excellent people leader and strategic thinker who has big ideas and can drive positive change and results; strong business acumen and a high energy level that is used to create a best-practices mindset for the Alumni Engagement area; Demonstrated track record of success in leading, mentoring and inspiring staff to achieve goals and fostering an attitude of staff responsiveness; exemplary interpersonal and communication expertise, including a gift for public speaking and a capacity to listen; capability to interface with staff and volunteers in a collaborative manner and to initiate and maintain relationships with alumni, university, and community representatives; capability to be prosperous including being ambitious, creative, collaborative, and service driven; proven success in working with volunteers and volunteer boards; practice superviseing a complex budget; superior expertise in leadership abilities, operations management, board management and fiscal management; capability to work flexible hours; availability and capability to travel; possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the university's auto fleet policy. Credit check is required.

Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications : Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Ten years of executive leadership abilities practice managing a team in alumni administration, development, marketing, public relations, or practice as an executive leader in a related field. A self-confident, self-motivated style that can enliven, engage, and positively impact individuals and groups; exercise of good judgment and diplomacy; capability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of disciplines; fast-paced and results oriented with the capability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and competing requirements; strong written, presentation, verbal, organizational and interpersonal expertise; business and financial sense. Significant achievement leading an alumni association as evidenced by CASE awards or other professional recognition.
