HR Team Leader
Liebherr have been manufacturing cranes in their Killarney facility since 1958 and today Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. designs, manufactures and installs a complete range of rail-mounted ship-to-shore cranes, container stacking cranes, rubber tyre gantry cranes and straddle carriers.Liebherr started manufacturing gantry container cranes and ship to shore cranes in 1967. In 1972, Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. was formed and is now responsible within the Liebherr Group for the worldwide marketing, design, manufacture, delivery, erection and servicing of rail mounted quayside container cranes and container stacking cranes.

The function


Reporting to the Human Resources Team Leader the HR Generalist will drive positive change in the leadership abilities and management of the people management agenda within business units across the site. The HR Generalist will share the responsibility for the goals and targets delivery of the people agenda.
The HR Generalist supports and advises line managers on day to day HR issues ensuring HR is seen as a key support and partner in the achievement of the business agenda. The function will support a HR Service Delivery culture all over the business actively supporting discussion and expertise transfer of best practice.

Person Profile


The HR Generalist is an practiced HR professional, with broad practice in various HR areas. The HR Generalist builds a valuable relationship with internal clients and transfers requests and solutions to/from the business units working together for delivery. The value add of the HR Generalist is in deep expertise of the internal clients, key employees and business processes.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter whose flexible approach allows for multiple issues to be dealt with simultaneously. You are a highly motivated, dependable, performance driven decision-maker. You have excellent attention to detail and well developed reporting expertise. You have a proven track record of delivering policy and procedures in line with best practice.

Key Elements of the function


Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following:
   » Acts as a point of contact for the employees and managers in the business unit.
   » Proactively provide support, advice, guidance on, and manage employee relations issues such as disciplinary and grievance, absence, performance management, and other key HR areas including attrition with the business unit.
   » Proactively supports the delivery of HR Projects and Processes.
   » Developing and updating human resource policies and procedures as necessary, ensuring compliance with significant statutory legislation and industry best practice.
   » Initiate, lead or participate in a broad range of projects and initiatives to support legal compliance and department/company development cross-functionally.
   » Partake in the recruitment and selection process in line with business needs, continually looking to introduce improvements where possible.
   » Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks.
   » Partner with line managers to drive employee engagement and management through coaching, influencing and sharing of expertise.
Qualifications and practice
   » A third level qualification in a significant discipline or equivalent.
   » Minimum of 3 to 5 years' practice required in a similar function within HR.
   » Proven communication and relationship building capability.
   » Commitment to delivering high standards with a positive, can do approach.
   » Strong team player.
   » Labour law expertise.
   » Strong organizational, planning, problem solving and reporting expertise.
