We are pursuing an Activities Coordinator to plan activities for our residents. Must have significant practice and care of the elderly practice. FETAC Level in Healthcare or other significant studies is required.

Bon Secours Care Village, Mount Desert, Lee Road, Cork
The Bon Secours Care Village is unique among our facilities in that Information technology provides long term, convalescent and respite care. Information technology is HIQA compliant state-of-the-art purpose built facility with specific design features. Due to an increasing demand for our excellent services a major expansion is underway. The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for the following:

tasks & The main responsibilities are:
   » Plan events and group activity for our residents with a person centred approach,
   » Develop a diverse and innovative activity schedule inclusive to all residents,
   » Devise and implement activities to improve residents social health and wellbeing,
   » Organise and co-ordinate activities for active everyday living that will maintain interest and progression over time,
   » Be an active member of our multi-disciplinary team, working closely with the DON and ADON to implement a significant and effective activity programme for residents,
   » Plan, organise and manage events within budget and timelines. Manage the team on the day and contact with suppliers,
   » Maintain accurate documentation of activities for regular evaluation and review,
   » Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.

function Requirements:
FETAC/QQI Level 5 (Healthcare or related studies)
Committed to a Person Directed Planning approach
Highly motivated with excellent communication expertise to deliver activity programmes to a range of people,
Excellent organisational, interpersonal and teamwork expertise,
Practical and creative expertise e.g. arts, crafts, music, drama, sports coaching etc. are an advantage,
Demonstrate commitment, patience and care abilities to relate to vulnerable persons,
Previous practice in a similar function is desirable
Must have a full driving licence.
