Position: Sr Engineer, Software - Software Engineer (L3)
Job location:Charlottesville,VA

GENERAL SUMMARY:

GDIT is seeking candidates to support the US Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Under the I2TS 3 task order, INSCOM ensures reliable, uninterrupted availcapability of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Information Management (C4IM) including: networks, hardware, software, engineering, and specialized tools at the point of customer need to support INSCOM's mission. INSCOM and its MSCs provide the enabling layer to connect the Army and its tactical formations to defense and national intelligence agencies via tactical networks. The capability to provide mission critical intelligence is dependent on the prosperous use of its information technology (IT) networks worldwide.
Principal tasks and The main responsibilities are:

An I2TS 3 Software Engineer:
   » Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) located upon documented requirements
   » Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of COTS/GOTS in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components
   » Designs, implements, and integrates software applications or performs software engineering tasks
   » Utilizes software engineering and design methodologies appropriate to the development, integration, and production environment
   » Ensures efficient delivery of software engineering capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes
   » Mitigates risks, controls costs and schedule variance, and effectively manages large scale, integrated software projects
   » Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results
   » Demonstrates advanced expertise of software engineering principles, methods, and techniques
   » Possesses expertise of the connected hardware, software, and equipment

Desirable expertise / practice:
   » Comprehensive expertise of the principles, methods, and techniques used in web software development and design
   » Proficiency in the use of one or more web technologies such as XAML (Silverlight, WPF), .NET Framework, SQL, VB.net, JavaScript, Shell, HTML, PHP, and etc. is highly desirable
   » Familiar with Agile-Scrum methodology and practices
Certification(s):
   » DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
   » Required Baseline/Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
   » Desired Computing Environment (CE) Certification: MCSE, Data Management and Analytics; or MCSA, Server 2012/2014
Security Clearance:
   » TS/SCI required
Additional:
   » Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
