Our client is seeking an energetic candidate with a strong business acumen to take up the function of Manager, Wild Atlantic Way.
This exciting permanent position will be located in the Fáilte Ireland office in Galway City and will report into the Head of Wild Atlantic Way.
You will be responsible for driving the growth of economic and social contribution of tourism to the region by creating a destination development plan that harnesses key opportunities delivering incremental tourism revenue and visitor numbers.
Summary of Key The main responsibilities are:
   » Identify, develop and lead the implementation of key strategic development priorities
   » Ensure that development of all individual cluster/networks is aligned to overall programme plan
   » Identify potential visitor focused practices to leverage growth opportunities and fill product gaps
   » Identify and engage key industry partners and foster and maintain strong working relationships to achieve organisational and regional objectives.
   » Coordinate the efforts of key stakeholders such as Local Authority’s, Leader and other State Bodies to collectively deliver agreed regional targets
   » Set clear goals and KPI’s for regional team that are aligned to the operational plan and corporate objectives
   » Effective management of team resource and allocation of appropriate resource to projects and tasks this function will require travel, with attendance at a significant number of national events all over each year.
To be considered for this post, you must have:
   » A third level qualification in Business, Marketing/or a related discipline.
   » A minimum of five years’ practice in a managerial function demonstrating an in-depth expertise of tourism or service industry at local and national level.
   » practice in leading teams, with highly developed interpersonal expertise and demonstrated capability to build strong external and internal strategic partnerships.
   » Previous practice in managing senior stakeholders
   » Project management practice.
   » Articulate communication and strong interpersonal expertise
