The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing engineering support for New Product Introductions (NPI).this function reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

Listing description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing engineering support for New Product Introductions (NPI).
this function reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.

Job The main responsibilities are:
   » Work as part of the NPI support team to setup new products and manage jobs through the production floor.
   » Work as part of the NPI support team to drive process improvements.
   » Technical support for equipment with responsibility for ensuring equipment uptime, process yield and all Health and Safety aspects of the process.
   » Assist in implementing technical improvements under the teams Continuous Improvement program
   » Responsibility for any assigned equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance procedures.
   » Assist engineering in investigating and implementing new production methods and root cause analysis.
   » Work with Manufacturing Engineers in developing, troubleshooting, standardising and improving existing production methods and procedures.
   » Researching solutions to existing process problems.
   » Assist in conducting IQ/OQ/PQ process of equipment. Assist in the creation and maintenance of updated area SOPs.
   » Recommend equipment and process improvements and develop User Requirement Specifications (URS) for new equipment.
   » Design, specify, manufacture, test and document production equipment, changes and improvements.
   » Interface with a variety of personnel internally and also with outside vendors when necessary while performing everyday activities.

Key Requirements:
   » Engineering cert / diploma (HETAC/FETAC Level 6), senior trade or equivalent qualification, preferably with 2yrs+ practice.
   » Previous practice of working on machinery and with completing equipment maintenance required.
   » Previous exposure to automation is also required, with expertise of pneumatic systems, mechanical motion systems & electrical drive systems.
   » Should have expertise of operating, debugging and maintaining automated control systems.
   » Previous practice in a target driven environment is an advantage.
   » Fluent spoken and written English.
   » practice and expertise of laser applications whilst not essential would be an advantage.
   » Excellent communication, planning and organisational expertise.
   » Motivated to work on own initiative.
   » Be innovative in line with lean thinking and process excellence.
   » Maintain proper housekeeping and Health & Safety standards.
   » Demonstrate a quality culture within the team, ensuring that procedures and work methods for the area are accurate and fully complied to.
   » Willing to be flexible and accomodating to meet the business need across shifts, while open to learning, and training in new processes as required.

Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturcapability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capcapability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
