We are recruiting for Teagasc for ICT Senior Security/Continutiy Specialist located in Carlow.
Basic Function:
With organisation wide responsibilities the prosperous applicant will be responsible for developing and maintaining Teagasc's ICT security policies, for promoting consciousness and good practices, for making recommendations for improvements in line with best industry practice, and for the oversight of ICT security operations. He/she will audit Teagasc's application systems security and infrastructural security arrangements and will also develop, test and maintain Teagasc's ICT Continuity Plan.
Note: This position requires occasional attendance outside normal working hours and some travel between Teagasc offices.
Main tasks and The main responsibilities are:
   » Develop and maintain Teagasc's ICT Security Policies.
   » Keep ICT Staff and Users aware of ICT Policies and significant security issues.
   » Review security and make recommendations for security improvements and standards for all aspects of ICT hardware and software.
   » Work with other ICT staff on new ICT developments to ensure that security requirements are embedded in new developments and to verify their implementation.
   » Act as the registration contact for Data Protection for Teagasc.
   » Investigate security violations and respond appropriately.
   » Monitor and audit the effectiveness of operational security measures (malware management software, patching, encryption etc.).
   » Manage the issuing of security certificates.
   » Conduct business continuity risk analysis on infrastructure and applications and develop and maintain the ICT Continuity Plan.
   » Implement the ICT Continuity Plan.
   » Ensure continuous self-education and development in matters relating to the position.
   » Actively participate in the annual business planning, risk management and Performance Management Development System (PMDS) processes.
   » Brief the Head of ICT on security issues and trends, and provide management information on ICT Security.
   » Work in close cooperation with other members of the ICT team in order to deliver quality services to our clients.
   » Assist Teagasc in meeting the commitments of the Customer Service Charter and Action Plan.
   » Fully co-operate with the provisions made for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of themselves, fellow staff and non-Teagasc staff and co-operate with management in enabling Teagasc to comply with legal obligations. This includes full compliance with the responsibilities outlined in the Safety Statement.
   » Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
Person Specification
Essential
   » Level 8 Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other significant degree.
   » CISSP, MCSE, CNNA or other significant qualifications.
Desirable
   » expertise of and practice in ISO27000 and/or 22300 Standards.
   » practice with Microsoft AD/ADFS, McAfee, ePO, Fortinet Fortigate, Tenable Nessus.
Candidates must satisfy and continue to satisfy during employment with Teagasc, legal requirements to drive unaccompanied on Irish public roads.
