Job Description


The main responsibilities are: Kforce has a client seeking a Configuration / Change Analyst in Fairfax, Virginia (CA). The Configuration/ Change Analyst will be responsible for tracking and controlling changes in software, to include revision control, version control, and establishment of baselines. You will be responsible for the integrity of the software through the software life cycle.

The main responsibilities are:
   » Responsible for tracking software version across a portfolio of software projects, responsible for creating and enforcing standards to include code check in, code freeze, integration with continuous build systems, and providing management reports on current versions, issues and discrepancies
   » Will work with Scrum Master, release managers and engineers
   » Responsible to create, enforce, tailor Configuration Management standards, procedures, processes and training materials to ensure Engineers understand the standards
   » Responsible to work with Project Managers to create configuration management plans, tailored for their specific project/engagement
   » Responsible for managing software versions, builds and releases
   » May be responsible to manage configuration management boards
   » Will support major, integration and maintenance releases; This may include creating deployment checklists/plans, assembling release packages
   » Communicating and interfacing with VA customers and stakeholders
   » Identify the configuration items, components, and related work products that will be placed under configuration management
   » Establish and maintain a configuration management and change management system for controlling work products
   » Create or release baselines for internal

Job Requirements


Requirements:
   » broad practice in the managing of source code and documentation for baselining and product builds
   » skills in using IBM Rational Tools (i.e. Rational Team Concert)
   » practiced must include a wide variety of work in identifying configuration items, their relationships, and data for repositories, consistency of a product's performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information all over its life
   » Excellent organization, presentation, customer communication, and organizational skills are required
   » Deployment practice working in an Agile environment
   » Must have practice in management of individual releases of software, hardware or other system components
   » Must have practice in coordinating with QA, Development, packaging and hardware teams
   » practice in documenting releases, risks and in maintaining the schedule of planned releases
   » Must be able to work with software engineers, must be able to check code out and execute builds

   » practice supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs
