The Regional Category Manager-Commodities will have accountcapability for €50-100MM + of Commodity spend. Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement, the Manager will lead the strategic sourcing activities for their category in the Europe & Russia Region with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions, while managing price risk and maintaining/improving product quality and vendor service levels. The individual will coordinate the category management team and work closely with key stakeholders in corporate functions to implement effective risk management strategies. This position is responsible for ensuring execution of global category strategies in the Europe region and is accountable for implementation of all regional and global cost optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities :
   » Leads category sourcing activities in the Europe Region, superviseing all activities related to procurement of a material, from intent to purchase through delivery of the material.
   » Develops and implements regional sourcing strategies for categories in Europe Region while contributing to Global Strategy formation and execution.
   » In conjunction with business leads, develops, coordinates, and executes effective price risk management strategies.
   » Recruits and maintains suppliers that minimize Kerry's total cost of ownership, while upholding internal and external policies, governmental regulations and laws and maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
   » Develops and utilizes a system to evaluate vendor quotations with the appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
   » Monitors performances of vendors and their compliance with Kerry guidelines.
   » Analyses market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availcapability/price, and prepares market analysis reports.
   » Tracks performance within each spend category and defines budgetary impact.
   » Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptcapability of items to specifications
   » Directly solves operational issues with vendors
   » Reviews and resolves vendor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
   » Provides assistance to acquisition strategies by completing due diligence and integration activities for spend.
Knowledge & expertise:
   » Fundamental Supply & Demand and technical analysis of commodity futures markets
   » Strong price risk management expertise.
   » Superior communication and interpersonal expertise.
   » capability to quickly adapt to new processes within the organization
   » Able to work in a dual reporting matrix and in virtual teams
   » Able to get buy-in and commitment from stakeholders
   » Distinctive leadership abilities.
   » At least 5 years of a prosperous track record working within the Manufacturing Industry in Procurement/Supply Chain or related field with at least 3-years of practice in the procurement area in a Food Manufacturing-Consumer Goods (FMCG) company.
   » Comprehensive knowledge of commodity price risk management with previous exposure to and knowledge of traded futures commodities (ie corn, soy, wheat, sugar, cocoa, or dairy).
   » Honours University Degree required.
   » CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) desirable.
   » this function will involve international travel up to 30% of the time, and the function will be located out of Naas, Ireland (25 minutes SW of Dublin).
