Senior Legal Counsel, EMEA, Technology Company, Cork, 5 years' + PQE (Maternity Leave Contract, minimum 1 year with strong possibility of extension)
Job location: CORK
On behalf of our client, a leading technology company, we're looking to recruit a Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' practice.
The Legal Counsel will be solely responsible for operating the EMEA legal function for the company.

tasks and The main responsibilities are:
   » Negotiate and manage various EMEA supply and technology transaction agreements;
   » Draft, negotiate, structure, interpret, execute contractual documents with the company's named and strategic customers located in EMEA as well as reviewing and drafting consulting agreements, intellectual property licenses, non-disclosure agreements and terms and amendments for EMEA-located contracts;
   » Draft, manage, distribute, respond to or analyze RFIs, RFPs, RFQs or customer terms and conditions as needed;
   » Maintain a deep knowledge of contract templates, contracts policy, legal risk and licapability and company position on various matters. Interpret contracts and advise executives and sales team on contractual responsibilities;
   » Provide expert legal advice on EMEA compliance, regulatory and governance matters;
   » Provide legal oversight and advice on all other aspects of EMEA business;
   » Competition Law - Develop unique knowledge of the EMEA business in order to advise on complex competition and antitrust matters;
   » Data protection law - Assist with GDPR compliance, coordinate, review and anticipate compliance with EMEA data protection laws for the EMEA business;
   » Environmental Law - Manage and review compliance with EMEA environmental laws and other local jurisdiction environmental laws;
   » Employment Law - Work with EMEA human resources team to ensure compliance with local employment laws and advise on employment law matters;
   » Advise on and work with Internal Audit and Legal Team in enforcing and ensuring compliance with all aspects of the company Code of Ethics, Insider Trader Policy and Anti-Corruption Policy;
   » Internal Investigations - Manage and coordinate EMEA internal investigations with the corporate team, including Internal Audit, Human Resources, Legal Team and Executive Management;
   » Keep abreast of legislative and administrative regulatory developments in EMEA;
   » Serve as legal adviser on the implications of all EMEA activities; participate in other key legal decisions as a member of the legal team;
   » Review and negotiate EMEA commercial property documentation;
   » Assist with management and coordination of EMEA corporate subsidiary formalities;
   » Manage/supervise company secretarial matters as necessary;
   » Coordinate intellectual property matters, including IP litigation, patents, trade mark filings, with Legal Team;
   » Obtain the services of outside EMEA counsel as required to complement available internal legal resources;
   » Closely manage legal budget for entire EMEA region.

   » Qualified solicitor;
   » A minimum of 5 years' practice with a reputable law firm and/or corporate legal department;
   » practice in contract negotiations, particularly with service provider customers;
   » Good drafting and negotiation expertise;
   » Good written and verbal presentation expertise;
   » Good organizational expertise;
   » Knowledge and capability to manage compliance with EMEA regulations, especially with competition law and data protection law;
   » capability and availability to work independently in an extremely fast-paced environment with numerous departments;
   » capability to work with highly engaged EMEA sales team;
   » Strong interpersonal expertise and relationship building at all levels;
   » availability to travel, primarily in EMEA, as needed.
