Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager (Ireland) to join the Business.
this function is responsible for managing the organization's business development ensuring consistent and rapid growth in sales across all business service lines and business units in Ireland.
- Has oversight for the day-to-day management of the business development team in Ireland. Ensure that the business development function is adequately resourced to ensure that the overall annual sales targets are met.
- Sets challenging but achievable annual targets and devises incentives to drive sales performance within the BD team.
- Responsible for the identification and winning of laboratory services business with select pharma, biopharma and medical device companies to achieve growth objectives within Ireland.
- Responsible for account development planning involving the analysis of clients' organisation and activities to assess the potential requirements that the clients may have for Eurofins Biopharmaceutical Testing Services. The job holder must continually develop expertise of the outsourcing strategy of the assigned clients and develop short, medium and long term strategies that result in maximising the opportunities to provide the clients with analytical services. Account Development will involve collaboration with counterparts from other sites and business units.
- Assessment of test requirements, methods and other client supplied study specifications and information in conjunction with functions at European sites (as the case may be, MDs; Key Account Managers (KAM); Business Unit Management; Sales; Project Management; Pricing Groups; and other Eurofins functions) to help design service solutions that meet clients' requirements. Overall responsibility for the provision of on time, high quality proposals/quotations that present the optimum solution for the client whilst ensuring on or above plan profitcapability.
- Be system owner for commercial systems - COMLIMS and CRM.
- Facilitates the business development strategy for selected global accounts (KAM) ensuring that the KAM team is supported by local sales activity.
- Management of contractual processes, with a very strong focus on contracting new business and bringing Information technology effectively into the group, which comprises inter alia: Confidentiality Agreements, Preferred Provider / Master Services Agreements / Pricing Agreements. Responsible for the resolution of commercial issues / negotiations with support and oversight from senior management. Effective internal communication of global agreements and their revisions.
- Acts as a key contact for large customer accounts.
- Responsible for Sales Reports - provision of account sales and revenue, activity and market status reports as required on a local or global basis as appropriate - and compliance with CRM reporting requirements.
- Works with the marketing team to devise marketing materials and tools to support new business opportunities and to promote the Eurofins brand.
- Monitoring customer satisfaction with existing clients to ensure service delivery.
- Responsible for continuous improvement - identification of growth opportunities resulting from quality and services improvement, including potential expansion of the offering, and effective communication of such potential with MDs of sites and other operational resources.
- Responsibility for pricing and discounts structures that allow the company to meet its targets and that are significant for the market segment. Ensures that the annual price strategy is implemented.
- Performing other ad hoc tasks and tasks that may be required in order to execute the function.

Education & Qualification
- Degree Level or equivalent in life sciences subject or demonstrable significant business practice/vocational training and qualification.
- Finance / business training
- practice and demonstrated success in BD functions towards senior levels in target industry, ideally for in and outsourced solutions (outsourcing practice a must)
- Proficiency within GxP environments
- The job holder needs to have expert expertise of the product commercialisation and manufacturing / supply chain process for their clients and markets and in particular the testing and service requirements therein. This should include expertise of regulatory authorities, guidelines and quality systems relating to all services.
- Excellent proficiency in English, ideally one other significant market language (French; German; Italian) as mother tongue

- Teamwork especially in a complex internal structure. capability to effectively influence across functions and across sites to first establish shared objectives and then drive the process to achieve those joint objectives.
- Proven networking expertise - must be able to network internally across all functions and externally within client organisations (vertically and horizontally, with a view to establish increasingly senior relationships) and other service providers.
- Must be immediately credible at a senior level within Eurofins and client organisations.
- Capable of contributing to the strategic direction of the business and able to work with counterparts within Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories globally, in particular with US KAM functions, to achieve business objectives.
- Outstanding communication expertise both internally and externally. capability to understand clients' requirements and to be able to devise and articulate the most appropriate solutions.

function will be home located however commitment to be in Dungarvan, minimum 1 day a week and when required
