Onionsack are a software company that work in the sports betting industry among others. We develop and maintain our own SaaS platform which is operational 7 days a week.

Systems Administrator

We are currently recruiting for a Systems Administrator to join our growing Support team. As part of this team this person will be responsible for supporting our SaaS application and dealing with customers' requests and queries via our Service desk system. The support team is also responsible for managing and administrating the Information technology infrastructure, operations and facilitating the development team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a helpdesk engineer, application support engineer or Somebody with a keen interest in Information technology infrastructure, Linux, virtualisation, networking and security to gain hands-on practice working with the latest technologies while expanding their expertise.

Desired qualifications, skill and practice:
   » Third level qualification in significant discipline or equivalent practice.
   » practice in customer support or Information technology Helpdesk advantageous.
   » practice working with Linux operating systems e.g. RedHAT, CentOS, Fedora.
   » practice working with Virtualisation e.g. VMware ESXi and vSphere desired but not required.
   » Basic expertise of networking.
   » Team player with keen interests in Information technology infrastructure and operations.
   » Out of hours and weekend work required on a rota basis.
   » Some travel will be required from time to time.
   » Strong communications expertise.

Support team functions:

   » Assist with and manage customer support requests and queries.
   » Assist with and manage incidents, including coordination and communications connected with critical P1 and P2 incidents.
   » Ensure the monitoring of systems, applications and services is maintained.
   » Assist with the administration and revision of Information technology policy, operations and security documentation.
   » Develop and maintain operational procedures and policies.
   » supervise and maintain system and application backups.
   » Administration and management of production and test environments.
   » contact with support and development teams internally and externally to ensure continuous service delivery and improvement of operational services.
   » Administration of servers and network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, NAS, SAN.
   » Document incident resolution information and update significant expertise bases.
   » Automation of current processes where possible using tools and utilities.
   » The above is not an exhaustive list and will include completing any other reasonable task requested by management within the scope of this position.

While Information technology is desired the candidate will possess all the qualifications, expertise and practice outlined in this function, Information technology is not required as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
