National Learning Network are currently recruiting for a Vocational Instructor to join the team on a full-time basis.

Vocational Training Instructor
==============================
JOB PURPOSE
The Vocational Training Instructor is responsible for the training and development of Learners in conformity with the agreed local training programme specifications, together with the day-to-day running and maintenance of all aspects of the training programmes The Instructor assists Learners with additional support needs in exploring their future career and educational direction and in making realistic vocational choices with a view to progressing to further education/employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/practice/TRAINING/expertise
Formal Education/Training

* Third level qualification, preferably within the Education/Training or Social Sciences sector,
* A significant pedagogical/training qualification - Train the Trainer QQI Level 6 as a minimum
Work practice
* A number of years significant occupational practice of working with Learners in educational, guidance and/or developmental contexts
* practice in QQI certification and accreditation processes
Skills and expertise
* Excellent facilitation and presentation skills together with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills practice in working on own initiative with a professional and confident approach An capability to motivate learners and to maintain networks with stakeholders and local communities
* Own means of transport and a full clean driving licence
* The Instructor will take part in all aspects of co-ordination and facilitation in respect of National Learning Network at its Ennis located centre delivering QQI Employcapability Skills.

JOB tasks AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Area

Provide systematic training according to specified curricula, with responsibility for the instruction of a number of modules for QQI Level 4 certification
Facilitate participants in developing the expertise, skills and confidence necessary to secure progression results
Meet key performance indicators in relation to learner placement and progression and achievement of certification targets

As part of a team contact appropriately with significant key stakeholders in maintaining programme allocations. Assist Learners in reviewing previous practices and exploring future goals, using a range of occupational interest, educational and problem solving techniques.

Collaborate on the development of Individual Action Plans to support each Learner's progression, Evaluate the vocational rehabilitation needs of each Learner and produce a profile of those needs. Source and support work practice placements and instil by example and direct training, proper work attitudes and work behaviours. Provide learners with adequate and constructive feedback about their progress

Maintain all records in conformity with both internal and external quality standards and produce reports on same. Develop curricula and innovative interventions in co-operation with Programme Development agent, Rehabilitation Psychologist, Manager and Staff.

Apply all standards and procedures relating to Health and Safety Acts and maintain the highest levels of safety, ensure a rational and economical use of all equipment, materials and supplies and the maintenance of same.

Report to the Manager on all matters pertaining to the programme and inform the Manager in a timely manner should problems arise.

Perform the function of Instructor under the guidance of the management of National Learning Network and co-operate fully with the centre staff and multi-disciplinary teams and significant stakeholder such as LCETB as required.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of activities of National Learning Network and actively participate in and promote a culture of excellence all over all.
