Cardiology Services Manager (Chief Cardiac Physiologist)
Theprovision of quality a Cardiac Diagnostic service. To provide a quality, clientcentred Cardiac Diagnostic services to identified client groups as directed bythe Hermitage Medical Clinic / CEO.
The position requires a strategicapproach to the development of services and structures, embracing continuousquality improvement and the management of changes necessary to achieveorganisational objectives.
Factors Essential Desirable
1.BSc in Clinical Measurement or equivalent
3. Furtherprofessional exams eg. BSE, NASPE
Minimumof five years satisfactory practice with the last three in a seniorposition
Broadexpertise of the main clinical areas , in all aspects of the service
expertiseof the operational procedures in the Cardiology Department including theCardiac Catheterisation Laboratory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES& ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensurethe efficient and effective management and delivery of the CardiacPhysiology Services of the Hermitage Medical Clinic
Ensurethe financial/commercial optimisation of the Cardiology physiologyservices. This will involve thesetting of revenue and activity targets across the various diagnostic andmonitoring modalities and putting in place the necessary actions andresources to achieve these targets
Takeresponsibility for the quality assurance and quality control requirementsof the Cardiology Department and the implementation of practices to ensurehighest quality of care to our patients
Takeresponsibility for the management of the cardiac physiology team and thedelegation of appropriate tasks significant to their qualifications, expertiseand competency.
Tocarry out clinical tasks as part of the overall cardiology team, but inrelative terms to the management tasks.
Astrong relationship is required with the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager andprovision of adequate resources to the Cath Lab is a key deliverable.
Tohave joint responsibility with the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager for the CathLab list of patients
To beresponsible for the electrophysiology studies and device implantation inthe Cardiac Cath Lab.
To beresponsible for emergency equipment in the Cath Lab ie IABP and temporarypacing.
Toensure robust stock management system including stock rotatation andtraffic system.
Toensure all equipment under remit in Cardiology Department and Cath lab isfully serviced and maintained.
Toensure that there is an appropriate cardiac Physiologist cover availableto the hospital. This may requiredevelopment of an out-of-hours and/or standby roster
Toensure full implementation of the hospital's information managementsystems or other systems appropriate to the cardiac Physiologist functions
Toparticipate in internal and external hospitals meetings significant to thefunction of Chief Cardiac Physiologist
Toparticipate in significant committee/task force groups as required.
Ensurethat there is compliance with all significant legislation and regulatoryrequirements. This includesresponsibility for dealing with regulatory or professional bodies andinspections
Toproduce an annual report for Cardiac Physiology services outlining keyperformance indicators and to develop a service plan for the coming year.
Ensurethat all policies/procedures and guidelines of the Hermitage MedicalClinic are complied with and implemented as significant to this function and theCardiac Physiology services
Takea lead in the identification of education and training required of staff involvedwith Cardiac Physiology services
Participatefully in the requirements of the hospital's accreditation process
Participatefully in the requirement of the hospital's risk management programme
